Operational Transparency at MPK Valasai
Wholesale coconut buyers often face a major commercial headache: finding 10% to 15% sub-standard, cracked, or rotten nuts when unloading a delivery truck at their mill or mandi. At Ramnad Agro, our reputation over two generations has rested on eliminating this transit disappointment.
1. The 4-Stage Sorting Sequence
- Unloading & Preliminary Screening: Incoming farm loads from village cultivators are unloaded onto clean godown bays. Deformed or visibly bruised nuts are separated immediately.
- Acoustic Sound Tapping: Experienced sorters tap each coconut with a wooden rod. A high-pitched metallic resonance confirms solid, mature meat and intact inner water; a hollow thud detects hidden hairline fractures or spoiled water (azhukal).
- De-husking Calibration: Semi-husked nuts have outer fibrous tufts trimmed to uniform standard size, protecting the germination eyes during road transport.
- Authorized Weighbridge Weighment: Empty transport trucks are tared at an authorized commercial electronic weighbridge. Once loaded, gross weight is verified and printed on the official weighbridge slip attached to the consignment bilty.
