In 1998, Mr. Chokkalingam laid the foundation of our family business in the agricultural village of MPK Valasai, Ramanathapuram. What began as Gokul Stores — an honest, trusted village retail grocery — was built on a single non-negotiable principle: supplying authentic produce straight from native soil, with fair weights, transparent pricing, and prompt settlement with farmers.
Over nearly three decades, our family has lived, farmed, and worked alongside cultivators across Ramanathapuram district. We understand which coconut groves yield the highest copra oil recovery, which artisan clusters weave the most durable palmyra mats, and how seasonal rainfall governs the protein density of our native rain-fed pulses.
Today, under second-generation management under Gokul, Ramnad Agro operates as the dedicated B2B wholesale arm. We have scaled the founding standard: connecting regional agricultural produce directly to commercial food manufacturers, oil expellers, retail chains, and municipal institutions across Tamil Nadu and South India.
The Gokul Stores Foundation
Gokul Stores began in 1998 in MPK Valasai. To this day, the original shop continues to serve our village neighbors with daily provisions, honest scales, and fair prices.
